I had a pretty easy time creating the splash page for the wyvern in my last post, but that was a one-off situation. This week's dragon design, the Frost Dragon, took a little more time to sort out. Still not sure it's the best drawing, but I think it get the main ideas across.
Here it is:
The Frost Dragon is one of three so-called "noble dragons," the first of which was the Mountain Dragon. This dragon type lives on the highest tops of the mountains but can survive in warmer temperatures. They have modified scales that look like feathers and fur around places like their paws and wings. These scales serve a dual purpose--they help the dragon walk on top of soft snow, and they help keep the dragon warm. The Frost dragon breathes ice rather than fire.
