Our next dragon on the list is the River Dragon.

When you're designing a creature--or anything else, really--thinking about the place and niche your design will occupy helps to inform your design choices. For example, I originally had the nostrils of this dragon protruding from the snout a bit--like most of the other designs. But then I realized, this creature will be underwater a lot . . . and in fast moving water at that. It wouldn't have large, open nostrils. So the top of his snout is smoother, and his nostrils small--though I'm not sure if that comes across in the drawing.
It also has webbed feet.
So thinking about the environment your design lives in and what it will do will help you decide what elements to add or subtract from your designs. Keep that in mind.
